Reynolds Tobacco Co,any, and the United States Tobacco Cceq~any. ~ovel concepts of treatment, including ~one ~rrow transplants f.or aplas~ic anemia and leukemia patients are being studied. ~iev approaches to sictle cell anemia and other ~netic and ~alignant diseases are bein~ exsmined. Basic research in lun8 defense mechanisms and recombinant DNA are ~llo bein~ supported by the 'I'Ve @rant has been t~rmed "an i~portant development in biomedical research" by Dr. Martin Cline, Bo~er PTof.essor of.
