Re: Research Contracts
UCLA
Our contract with UCLA was extended through May 31, 1982. Payment
ts made on a yearly basis on June 1 each year; therefore, we have
made our final payment ($61,454 in May 1981) under the present
extension to the contract through Kay 31, 1982.
Washington U.
This agreement was extended through Batch 31, 1984.
these contributions are made on a quarterly basis.

Franklin Institute
Brown & Williamson's obligation under our contract with Franklin
Institute rune for a three-year period0 per the letter agreement of
February 18, 1980. Payments required under the contract were
initial payment in 1980 and then one in January of 1981 and one in
January 1982.
There is nothing in the contract about extension or renewal. We
do say in the contract that we intend our contribution to be "only
initial fundin~ or seed money," etc.
