COMMENTS/DISCUSSION ON PAPER 13
I. Dr. Higenbottam pointed out that thedistribution of
taste receptors differed within various parts.of the
mouth and upper a-ir~ays, there is, forexample, a more
marked concentration of taste receptors at the baGk of
the tongue than the front.
2. The reasons as to why 'smoke' at ambi.ent temperatures
causes nicotine to elute from filters were discussed,
whereas air does not produce this effect. No clear
reasons were forthcoming, although experimental
investigations were s~ggested to clarify the position.
