FOR A SCIENTIFIC ECOLOGY
The Center has been created at the beginning of 1993 under the
French law for no~-profit ocgani?.ations, The pur~se ~s to answer
the request from a number of the Heidelberg Appeal signatories
in view to extend its impact in examining actual issues
the scientific community is confronted with.
The purpose of the Center is expressed in the by-laws :
"The purpose of the Assodarion is to promote and facilitate
exchange of sdentific ~<nowledge. based On sdentif'~c da~a.
regarding the protectiOn of mankind, other living species,
sites and the resources of the planet.
The Association thus proposes lo provide the most relevant
sdentiFtc laces to ~he authorizes responsible for developing
enviro~menta! protection policies, to the Society whfdr~ under
the principle of transpamnOjo is called upon to express i~s poioc
of view. as w~ll as to all sodo-e¢onomical partn~s who want
to contribute in both the conservation of the Earth and
the ~ong-term deve!oprnent of its populations."
