Abstract
Recounts meeting of industry ETS advisory groups, representing major tobacco companies and trade associations. Reports on: IAQ survey by Tobacco Advisory Council; Verband interest in industry sponsored epidemiological studies of sidestream smoke, "reported to contain many mutagenic and/or carcinogenic substances"; Verband concern over upgrading of acetaldehyde to A1 level in Germany "because there is close to 2mg in the sidestream of a typical cigarette"; TI projects on ETS including approach of Japanese industry with intention of obtaining raw Hirayama data for re-evaluation; and RJR airplane air quality study. Suggest future meetings to share research and that RJR seek representation on Tobacco Advisory Council Research Committee.
