Subject: Effect of Passive Smoking on Respiratory Function - F. Kauffmann and S. Perdrizet Eur. Journal Resp. Dis. 62 (Supp. 113) 1981
Abstract
Critiques study allegating decreased respiratory function in nonsmokers exposed to ETS. Notes that it reflects conclusions of previous study. Claims study did not account for confounding factors, and lists criticisms of specific data. Concludes that "because of numerous shortcomings in this study, the conclusions of the authors are not warranted. Nonetheless, it can be anticipated that anti-smoking groups will cite this paper as confirmation of the White-Froeb paper in their attempts to restrict smoking in public places."
