This contact report from Mr. Gray Robertson is self-explanatory, and I think
encapsulates where we are at with BAA at present.
This all seems quite encouraging and I hope that between us we represented
what it is you all have in mind for sensible development.
The reference to Mr, Hodgkinson's request for "assistance" means that if any
one or more companies chose to become involved in some minor way with
the decor or other design aspect of a given lounge or smokers' area, then
that would be welcomed.
The kind of thing spoken about was perhaps some smoker facility signposting
within the airport which would be branded, but in truth it would be up to
indivdual companies to devise whatever promotional material thought
affordable, effective, and/or appropriate.
This aspect of the issue was not, as I explained at the time, part of the TMA
remit, since all company promotional or merchandising endeavour was
outside our sphere of discussion.
That said, it would seem that were any of you to seek some involvement,
there is an open door upon which you would be leaning, and I suggest, if you
wish to take it further, that you contact Mr. Bdan Collie at Gatwick, or indeed,
Mr. Hodgkinson.
We will have this on our agenda at our next PSWG meeting on November 2
(here at 10am)
CLIVE TURNER.
