322 August 23, 1944 A regular meeting of the Executive Committee of P'. Lorillard Company was held today at the office of the Company, 119 West 40th Street, New York City. There were present Messrs.: H'. A. Kent G. E. W. Fl. J. H. D. VGhitefield S. Bowling J. Halley Hopewell T. Keel F. Temple Todd Wool. In the absence of Mr. Hummel, Chairman, Mr. Kent, President, presided, and! the Secretary acted as Secretary of the meeting. On motion duly made and seconded,, the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was dispensed with.. Onimotion of Mr. Keel, seconded by Mr. Hopewell, it was unanimously RESOLVED: That Louis H. Lindsey be promoted to Superintendent at the Danvilley Va. Leaf' Department, and his salary be fixed at the rate of' :;30& per month, effective September 1, 1944. On motion of' t1'r. Halley, seconded by Mr. Bowling, the following, adver- tising expenditures were in all respects apFroved, ratified, and confirmed: Contract dated August 15, 1944, ffor advertisement of OLD GOLD Cigarettes in the 1944 Year'Boo1t of the United Palestine Appeal, at a cost of C''1,OuU..
