September 8, 1943 A regular meeting of the Executive Committee of P'. Lorillard Company was held today at the office of the Company, 119 West 40th Street, New York Ci'~~.. There were present Messrs.: G. H. Hummel H. A. Kent G. D. Whitefield E. W . Bowling J. S. Freeman F. Hopewell J. T. Keel H. F. Temple Todd Wool Mr. Hummel., Chairman, presided',, and the Secretary acted as Secretary of the meeting. Qt1~ motion duly made and secaad'ed,, the reading of the minutes of the pre- vious meeting,was dispensed with. On motionn of Mr. Temple, seconded by Mr. Keel„ it was ummmimous7,y RESOLVED: That the reemployment of Kelcy Rudolph Collins as Salesman,, at a salary at the rate of $28 per week, effective September 6, 1943, with the authorization of'the Sales Dept. and the approval of G.D. lrhitefield, Executive Vice-President, and VP.J. Hall:ey„, Yice-Fresident, be and the same hereby is in all respects approved, ratified, and' confirmed'.. On motion of Mr. Hopewell, seconded by Mr. Mitefield„ it was unanimous]!y RESOLVED: That the following,inereases in salary of warehouse clerks,, each effective September 6, 1943„ being incident to the terms of'salary agree+- ments or to established salary rate schedules covering work assignments and in operation of an established plan of salary increases based upon merit and/or length of service within established rate ranges, be and the same hereby are in all respects approved, ratified, and confirmed: From the rate of. Contract dated August 30, 1943 with St. Louis National League Baseball Cliub, St. Louis, Mo., covering advertising of OLD GOLD Cigarettes in program for the 19i3 World Series games played in St. Louis (provided the St. Louis tsiam are champions of their league) at a cost of $250. Contract dated August 30, 1943 with Harry M. Stevens Inc., New York„ N,Y., covering advertising of Company products in the 1943' N.Y. American League pro- grams covering World Series baseball games played in New York Cityr, at a cost of' $200.. Contract dated August 30, 1943 with Harry M. Stevens Inc. covering,advertising of OLD GQLDiCigBrettes in programs for football games therein set out, at a cost of' $700. on motion duly made and seconded, the meeting adjourned.
