June 23, 1943 ' A regular meeting of' the Executive C'ommittee of P. Lorillard Company was held today at the office of'the Company, 719 West 40th Street, New York City. '1'here were present Messrs.: G. H. Htummel H. A. Kent G.. D. Ahitefield E. S. Bowlinng W. J. Iialley J. S. Freeman F. Hopewell df . T. KeeL T. L. Perkins, Asst. Secretary Mr. hummel, Chairman, presided and the Assistant Secretary acted as Secretary of the meeting. On motion dul,y made and seconded,, the reading of the minutes of the pre- vious meeting was dispensed with. t7n motion of Mr. Bowling„ seconded by Mr. Hopewell, it was unanimously RESOLVED'. That the action of' the~ President and the Treasurer of this Company in renewing , on June 23, 1943.9 , on behalf of ' this ~ Company, the loan made February 23', 1943i, from the, National City Bank' of' New~ Y ork, 55 Wall Street, New York City, in the sum of'une Nillion Dollars (',~1,000,000),and in execixti:ng,and delivering in the name of this Compan3r its promissory note evidencing said debt, bearing date of June 23r 1943y and payable at saidd bank ninety (90) days from said date, with~interest at the rate of 1i%'per annwm from said~ date, be and the same hereby is in all respects approved, ratified;, and' confirmed.
