There were.present.M'essrs.:. G.H. Hummel H.,A. Kent G.D. Whitefield E.S. Bowling J. S. Freeman F. Hopewell J. T. Keel H., F. Temple J. A. Glascock Todd Wool Mr. Hummel, Chairman, presiided,, and the Secretary acted as Secretary of the meeting. On motion duly made and seconded, the reading of.the minutes of the previous,meeting was dispensed with. On motion of Mr. nhitefield,, seconded! by Mr. Hopeeell,, it was unanimously RESOLVED: That the Transfer Books of the Registered Five Per Cent Bonds of'this Company shall be closed at twelve o'clock noon January 15, 1944, for the payment of interest thereon,, due February 1, 1944, and shall be reopened at ten o'clock A.M. February 2; 1944,. On motion of Mr. Kent, seconded by Mr. Temple, the following advertising, expenditures were in alIl respects approved, ratified,.and confirmedi: Contract dated December 13, 1943'with~H.M. Stevens: Inc. for a half'page OLD GOLD Cigarette advertisement in football program for game to be played at the Polo Grounds,, New York City, on December 19, 1943, at a cost of 850. Estimates dated December 10, 1943 of J. WaLterThompson Company as followsc //160' covering radio advertising,of'OLD GOLD Cigarettes over Station WSSH, Indianapolis,,Ind., January 1 throughDecember 30, 1944„ at a cost of $11,737.50. #161 covering radio advertising of OLD GOLD:Cigarettes over Station WSYR, Syracuse, N.7G., January 1 through December 30, 194.4, at a cost.of $14,163.52. On motion of' Mr. Whitefield, seconded by Mr. Freemany it was unanimously RESOLVED: That this.Company contribute the sum~of $1,0001 to The. National Conference of Christians &.Jess, New York City, N.Y. On motion duly madb and seconded, the meeting,adjourned to meet YPedhesday, December 29, 1943, at.11:]i0 o'clock A.M. Secretary
