There were present Messrs.: G'. Hi. Hummel G'. D. Whitefield E. S:. Bowling H. A.. Kent J. S., Freeman J. A.Glascock F. Hopewell J. T.. Keel Buford Scott Todd Wool On motion duly made andd seconded„ the reading of' the minutes of the previous meeting was dispensed with. On motion of' Mr., Kent, seconded.by Yr-Hopewell,: the following ad= vertising expenditures were in alil respects approved, ratified, and confirmed:. Estimates of Lennen & blitchell Inc. as follows: #293 dated October 7, 1940'1 covering radio~ adverti'sing of OLD GOLD Cigarettes as therein set out, October 9, 1940 through January 18,, 1941,. at a cost of $33,816.64. #2944 dated October 9, 1940 covering radio advertising of UNION LEADER and BEECH- NUT Tobaccos as.therein set out, November 12, 1940 through March 21, 1941, at a cost of $6,804. #295 dated October 10, 1940 covering radio advertising of OLD GOLD Cigarettes as therein set outr October 22, 1940 through January 18, 1941, at a cost of $1A,883.44. The Secretary laid before the meeting contract dated October 7, 1940 with American Coal Company Inc., Hartford, Conn. for installlation of a WinkLer Automatic Bituminous Coal Burning Stoker at the Connecticut Leaf Dept. of the Company„ Windsor,.Conn., at a cost of'$785., under terms and conditions therein set out, which On motion of'Mr..Bowling, seconded by Mr. Keel, was in all respects approved, ratified, and confirmed. on motion of'1[r. Scott, seconded by Mr. Whitefield, it was unanimouslly RFSOLREDa That the Company contribute the- sum of'One Thousand Dbll'ars ($1,'o00} to the Ccmmm3ity Fund of' the City of Richmond, Virginia.
