March 17 th, 19 20 . A regular meeting of the Board of' Directors of P.Lorillard Company, was held this day at the office of, the Company,, 119 West 40th Street,, New York City, New York. There were present Messrs: T. R. D. H. G. W. J. K. Hi. H. Mi. B. Maloney Smith Ball Harriss Williams Rhett On motion of' Mr. Smith, seconde& by Mr. Ball,, the read- ing of the minutes of the previous meeting of the Board of Directors wras dispensec3 with. On motion of Mr. Ball, seconded by Mr. Williams, it was RESOLVED,: That the action of the Treasurer of the Company, in borrowing for and on behalf of the Company, on March 15th, -1920, the sum of' Two Million Dollars (12,000,000.00), from the National Bank of Commerce in New York, payable in fonr months, with interest at the rate of six per cent. per annumi, be, and it hereby isi, in all respects approved, ratif'ied~ and confirmedl. On motion of' r.ir. Williams, seconded by Mr. Smith, it was RESOLVED: That the action of the Treasurer of the Company,, in borrowing for and on behalf'of the Company, as of Marchil8th, 1920, the sum of One Million Dollars ($1,000,000.00 )', f7rom the National City Bank ofNew York, payable in four months, with interest at the rate of six per cent. per annum, be, and it hereby is, in all respects approved, ratifiedand confirmed. On motion of Mr. Ball, seconded by Mr. Smith, the action of the--Ciga-r & Little Cigar Department of the Company, with the approval of Mr. G. H. Hummell, Vice-President, in employing Mr. E. S. Maguire, as salesman, at a salary of $25.00 per week, effective March 3rd, 1920, was in all respects approved, ratified and'coh- f irmed.
