MEMORANDUM
TO: The Members of the EPA/OSHA Task Force
FROM: Susan M. Stunt2 s(1U
Enclosed for your information is the latest petition Action on
Smoking and Health (ASH) has submitted to OSHA. This petition,
dated July 12 and calling for an emergency temporary standard
regulating ETS in the workplace, cites the EPA risk assessment
and the NIOSH workplace smoking report among the examples of new
"evidence" that has come to light since the last time ASH
petitioned OSHA for an emergency temporary standard in 1987.
We are obtaining the appendix to the petition and will forward it
to you as soon as we receive it.
Please let me know if you have questions.
