. .. A A Division of Loews Theatres, Inc., Research Center, 420 English Street, P.O. Box 21688, Greensboro, North Carolina 27420 Ppril 19, 1985 Dr. Carol J. Henry Microbiological Associates, Inc. 5221 River Rd. Bethesda, MD 20816 Dear Dr. Henry: During a recent audit of the files, we noted a few errors in some Final Reports. Please issue replacement pages for the following studies: Report No. 1-1725.014: The Effect of Inhalation of Reference and Test (D3 and D4) Cigarette Smoke on Two Cytogenetic Endpoints in Rats: Chromosome Aberrations and Sister Chromatid Exchange. On page 28, in Table 6, the fifth heading should be "Range of Mean Values per Rat", rather than "per Mouse". Report No. 1-1725.006: Six Week Repeated Smoke Inhalation in Rats to Compare Histopathology and Short-Term Endpoints Using Test (D3 and D4) and Reference Cigarettes. 1. On page 20, last paragraph, line 1: The text should state that "smoke-related lesions were observed", rather than 'Ttest article related." Same comment for page 21, paragraph 1, line 5. 2. In the Discussion and Summary section of the pathology report (Appendix A, page 3), paragraphs 1 (line 1) and 2 (line 5), "test article related lesions" are discussed. These should refer to "smoke-related lesions," in agreement with paragraph 3, lines 1-3, where the text states that differences in lesions were not observed among the treatment groups (reference, D3, and D4). Report No. 1-1726.006: Six Week Repeated Smoke Inhalation in Rats to Compare Histopathology and Short-Term Endpoints Using Test (Dl and D7) and Reference cigarettes. 1. On page 21, last paragraph, lines 1 and 12: the text should refer to "smoke-related" lesions (already requested in January, 1985).

2 2. In Appendix A, page 1 (next to last line), and page 4 (paragraph 1, lines 1 and 12): the text should refer to "smoke-related" lesions. If you have any questions, please feel free to call. Cbnnie JX~Stone, Ph.D., D.A.B.T. CJS/jw: 1
