MEMORANDUM MR. JUDGE ~ DR. SPEARS Harvard/Dr. Huber 'IV it is possible, indeed likely, that a brief, few-month hiatus may occur between the end of the Harvard phase-out in June, 1980, and the beginning of the Kentucky tenure. In such event, it has been suggested that the Industry grant to Dr. Huber a writing/travel grant to assist him in this transition period. This would, in effect, be a salary continuation, at the same salary rate he is now receiving'under the project ($40,000 annually)., Do you agree that the research equipment purchased with the Industry funds, for the Harvard'project, should be donated to Kentucky for use by Dr. Huber in his work there? It is presently expected that Dr. Huber will be offered the Kentucky Research Foundation position. However, AJS: RS
