Dear Bob:
Thanks for your March 6 reply to my recent letter on
the APCA/ASHRAE meeting conflict. Here is ASHRAE's meet-
tng schedule as published in the program for their recent
mid-winter meeting:
Present 6
ASHRAE
Future Meeting Dates
Chicago, Jan, 25-29 -
Houston, Jan. 24-28
Atlantic City, Jan. 23-27
Atlanta, Jan. 29-Feb. 2
Chicago, Jan. 27-31
San Francisco, Jan. 26-30
1981 Cincinnati, Jun. 28-Jul. 2
1982 Toronto, Jun. 27-Jul. 1
1983 Washington, DC, Jun. 26-30
1984 Kansas City, Jun. 24-28
1985 Honolulu, Jun. 23-27
1986 Portland, OR, Jun. 22-26
1987 Nashville, TN, Jun. 28-Jul. 2
1988 Ottawa, Jun. 26-30
1989 Vancouver, BC, Jun. 25-29
I tried to indicate in my letter that the conflict in
meeting content is broader than just indoor air quality.
(APCA's TT-7 vs ASHRAE's TC 2.3) For example, ASHRAF's
Committee TC 5.4 is concerned with air pollution control
technology and there are undoubtedly other ASHRAE activities
common to APCA's interest. Therefore, I believe that any
general suggestion to ASHPAE that they try to hold air qua1-
ity or air pollution activities at' their mid-winter meetings
should come from some higher authority than TT-7. In the

meantime, through a copy of this and my earlier letter I
have informed Bill Cain> Chairman of ASHRAE TC 2.3 of the
problem. Of all of ASHRAE's committee's, this one is
closest to TT-7 in technical content. We have begun a
dialogue with this committee and will be helping them to
put on a seminar on "Saoking and Indoor Air Qaality" to
be held at next year's mid-winter meeting (January 1982).
Sincerely yours,
