RESOLUTION I
SMOKING
WHEREAS, a-major effort in health prcmotion and disease and
accident prevention has been adopted as a central theme.of organi-
zational development in Red Cross in the next decade; and
WHEREAS, the weight of medical evidence suggests that smoking
of tobacco products can adversely affect the health not only of
smokers themselves, but also of non-smokers in the vicinity;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that smoking be discouraged
.in commonr:areas, classrooms, meetings, and conf erences., of the
American Red Cross.
