It seems to us appropriate for the TI to consider presenting its analysis - in one form or another - directly to the editorial people at NEWSWEEK. My attention has been recalled to the first sentence of the second paragraph on page 2 of the analysis, which reads in part "that the article contains sufficient...superficiality and poor research so as to leave an anti-smoking bias in readers' minds." ~ I also invite your attention (as mine has been directed) to the enclosed NEWSWEEK piece of August 1 regarding the recent New England Journal article on low tar and nicotine cigarettes. It too, in the opening sentence, reflects a significant anti-tobacco bias - this time in a supposedly reportorial piece in which blatant editorial conclusions are stated.
