In this case, vacation plus certain deliberations here have delayed my answering you. The question is whether to share with the Newsweek editorial staff some version of the critique which we prepared regarding the magazine's pretty sloppy article published last June. My conclusion is that we should not do~so in a direct way. During the many months preceding publication of the article there was internal agitation within the magazine, both pro and con. We were kept aware of that and during the event certain "teeth" were pulled. Even~so, our friends within were somewhat apologetic about the article. At the moment, our closest friend among them is being promoted to a more responsible assignment in another city and it is our intention to deal quietly, with his encouragement, with his replacement in the process of establishing even better lines of communication for the future.
