New Haven~, October 3,1978 I am greatly enjoying your brand of cigarettes "True Blue" for the last six years. Althoughalwaysactive in sportssuch as skiing., mountaineering.and'ski- touring, it was only at the age of 36, two years ago, that I started more serioua training in long distance running. I finished my first marathon last year in Newport, R.I. in 3:13 and!. I am presently a six minute miler after finishing races in New Haven and Guilford. I expect to.finish this yea~ts Newport marathon under three hours and to qualify for theHoston marathon next year. All this time and despite runnine 70 miles per week, I do not see any reason to give up smoking. Although smoking.may not be the ealthiest thing to doy it may not be neaxly as~bad as other agents to which we know ng y or unknowi,ng y are exposed everyday. I do not share m~+,v of the largely hypocritical arguments which are being expressed. I am tellingyou all this with one request m mind. T-shirts are being made these days with almost anything imprinted and I am wondering., wether a "True Blue" T-shirt may be available for my next marathon on October 29.
