I finished my first marathon last year in Newport, R.I. in 3•131 and I am presently a six minute miler aCter Liniairiug races in New Haven and Guilford. I expect to finish' this yea& Newport marathon under three hours and to qualify for the Boston, marathon next year. All tt'iis time and de~it_e rurnninZ 70 m~ s per week, I do not see any reason to give up snoking,. Although smoking may not be the eaTthiesC thing to do,, it may not be nearly as bad as other agents to which we kno ng 'y or unknowing y are exposed'' e_veryd''ay I do not shar? ~w o,~the' largely ~ hypocriti'cal arguments which are being'e:epressed.
