Montefiore Hospital in New York. The lead-in from Brokaw reported on an Environmental P'o~IlutionlCanferencewhich,had been h~eldin ri1ewYork apparently sponsored by"a group of unions. In his opening remarks Brokaw quoted numbers in the millions and millions specifically mentioned' the following,: but this fact was not brought out in the interview. Dr. Sydell I would suspect that Dr. Sydell is retained by the unions, 1. Doctors needimore training in occupational hazards. r 2. Doctors need to know what the hazards, of various occupations are and! appro- priate metthods of prevention. 3. a'nqu~estioning~, Dr. Sydell mentionedi the chemical industry as a high-risk one but would not dwell on that andi was generally quite unwilling to specify industries.
