CURRENT STATUS OF CTR' S CO6ISIDERA T ION OF MICROBIOLOGICAL ASSOCIATES CONTRACT PROPOSALS Following the visit by the SAB Task Force and staff to.Bethesda regarding status of Microbiological to MA with regard to the MA proposals for the contract SAB and staff, CTR has now proposed the following action Associates (MA) contract and later discussions betweenn year Juliy 1, 1978 through,June 30, 1i979: CTR would like to continue, subject to• using smoking machines, whole animals and vari- ous types of reference cigarettes and BaP. (ii) Studies of possible presence of ,X certain so-called biochemical markers, using live animals, whole smoke and RaP. (vi) In the area of so-called 10initiation" studies, studies aimed at evaluating the initiating capacity of whole cigarette smoke condensate and its ~ . - various fractions by variations of Ames-type tests.
