IMPORTANT !I
TO: TOBACCO MANUFACTURERS.
We were advised late this afternoon that the New
York State'As'sembly Health Committee would decide:
next Tuesday whether or not to report out for
vote Assembly Bill 8565. This bill, in our
opinion, would be the equivalent of a"Volstead
Act" for the tobaccb industry.
The enclosed copy of my letter mailed today too
the' member&of the Assembly Health Committee
expresses our obj'ectionito the Bill.
It is suggested that your firm likewise voice
its opposition immediately with a telegram to the
members of the Assembly Health Committee .(;list
enclosed)', .
