Therefore, it is the purpose,of this Act to assist the states too develop programs to immunize chilld!ren against preventable infectious diiseases. SECTION 2. The,Public Health Service Act is amendedby adding the 5 24 "(i)~ be so structured as to achiieve and' maintailn an immuni-O C.W : . 25 zation rate' of 90$ ag,ai'nst the dlseases listed, or to be M O _ w 113 subsection (a) sHall' be determined as follows: 14 "'(,i) for fiscal years 1979, 1980., and'1981„ the Federal 15 'share shall': be 100$ of the costs of the program; 16 "(iil) for fiscal years 1932 and'1983, the Federal share 17 shall be: 75$ of the costs of the program; 18 "(iiii) for fiscal years 1I984 and 1985, the Federal share 119 shall be 50% of the costs of the program; 20 "'(iv), for fi',scal, year 1986 and succeedingi years, the. 21 Federal share shall be 2$% of'the costs of the program,. 22 "(c) Ini order to qualiify for Federall payment und'errthis part, 23 a State''ss mandatory child immunization program shalli: fo'T:lowingin':ew s:ection:. 6 "Sec.31I6.
