The Westchester County Board of Health met in White Plains,
New York, February 22, 1979, and'adopted unanimously its
final proposed amendments to the County San~~T Code,
restricting smoking in certain public places.
The Board of Health will now forward the amendments to
the State Department of Health in Albany, New York, and
the Westchester County Attorney for review. These offices
will determined whether the amendments are in line with
the health laws of the state and whether they are legally
' sound (i.e., not in conflict with other county regulations).
~~ Approaal is expected f rom both these offices within several
~~months, following which a date for implementation will be
selected. The implementation date is expected to be four
or five months away. The above time frame will allow for
input into both the County Executive and the Board of
Legislators to request their intercession in the matter.
Accordingly, this is to re uest letters from our company
employees living in Westchester County to their individua
