PROJECT STATUS REPORT
EFI
The development work for this project appears to have
been completed.
The data of the latest MI HUT study infers that the
action standard has been met; that is, the development of a
3 mg product which is more acceptable than True 5. Data
from the MI HUT study indicated a 37% preference for True 5,
47% for Sample 612 and 16% No Preference.
Sample 612 will be re-tested in a standard market
research study, along with another prototype, in an attempt
to verify the data obtained in the MI HUT study.
EFII
The construction for this product has essentially been
finalized and blend development should be completed in
September or October.
It is felt that an initial market research study should
be conducted in late October to determine if product modifi-
cations are needed and if so, based on the diagnostics, how
much and in what taste categories.
True 100 (8 mg)
Development of the True Type 8 mg has been completed.
The construction and blend for the 8 mg Non-True type
has been finalized and flavor work is currently in progress.
Kent ULT
No work is being conducted on this product due to the
understanding that the Kent ULT will either be EFI prototype
741 or 612.
New Flavors and Sensations
Samples containing Orange, Tutti-Fruitti, Creme de
Menthe, Marshmallow, and Cherry flavors were evaluated in

focus group sessions in Eastchester, N.Y. The consensus of
opinion of those attending was that NFS is a viable concept.
However, it is generally felt that a specific flavor may limit
acceptance of the product.
The great difficulty will be in generating the necessary
data which will indicate what flavor and/or sensation nuance
is needed to fulfill some pre-determined action standard.

To date, no work has been conducted on this project.
