It suggests the following: 1. Customers may be ready for generic brands because of inflation. 2. Supermarkets may be ready for generic brands because of competitive factors. 3. New marketing techniques such as generic brands and the Hanes Hosiery technique (L'eggs) may be the wave of the future. 4. There may be a relationship between brand switching and income of switcher.
