Four Old Gold Filter ads will be evaluated in a ula(lazine porlfolio of 21 <ids,
including three ciqarette ads (1 Old Gold ad, a Luke ad and a Newport Lights ad).
A total of 1000 random cigarette smokers (250 in each of four cells) will be inter-
viewed in a hi-traffic central location site in 6 Hi-BDI O.G. filter markets. We
project that we will have a total of approximately 190 non-menthol smokers within
each cell. The number of non-menthol smokers in each cell will be boosed (by
about 60) to a'total of 250. Additionally the sample will be half male/half female.
Areas of questionning will encompass unaided awareness, elements recalled and
communication diagnostics. Specific copy questions will be added if necessary.

10 The total random group (without booster) will be analyzed separately from the total
non-menthol group.
