National AAL• Study will be fielded during the weeks of January 10, 17 and 24, 1977. A total of 1000 WATS-line teleohone . interviews will be comnleted with random cigarette smokers. Additionally, al1 qualified participants, agnroximately 50% of whom will be males, will be 21 years of age or older and will smoke at least ~ pack of their regular brand per day. Insofar as a random drawing of cigarette smokers will yield only a small number of True smokers, we will be "boosting" our resoondent base of 1000 by•an additional 200 True 85 mm (regular or lnenthol) smokers. This will a1low us, to review the attitudes, oninions and'behavioral patterns of True smokers as a seoare+.t:e, meaningful entry.
