A total of 10 focus groups will be conducted in Portland, Ore. &
Phoenix, Ariz. during the week of February 7, 1977. In each city
the following design will be utilized:
Kent Smokers - 2 female groups
1 male group
Kent "Prone" - 1 female grou_n
1 male groun
All resi5ondents will be 21-55 years of age and sMoke'ten or more
cigarettes per dav. Each Kent "Prone" panelist will be defined as
a regular smoker of an 11 mg. ,taror over non-menthol brand who
does not reject Kent. Additionally True 100 'smokers, 120 mg. smo-
kers and KGL smokers will be excluded.
:ey Criteria For Analysis
mhis research design will aid in providing in-depth insight into con-
sumer awareness of and attitudes toward the Kent flicronite II advertis-
ing and product. Results of these sessions will be integrated with
quantitative consumer research (product test & tracking study) findings.

tative and directional only.
