At the time of his death the dog ha6 smoked forll:3 days with a total of 1140 ciioarettes smolced. The smoking began on /;pr; 1~', 1977. He smoked untiilr October 18, 1977. The f i ndi ngs of thi s dog are those of a throm5us oF recerltori c i n in the right auricular appendage. There was also evidence of early fibrosis and emphysema in all lobes of the lunq. Granuloma, probably secondary to a worrn was present in the right diaphragmatic lobe. This is another dog in the PMO'series with thrombosis of the right auricular appendage and~emboli to branches of the pulmonary arteries and arterioles ti•rilth resulting infarction, secondary pneumonia and death. gSUP.
