It should be pointed out again that in the series of P"0 dogs there has bzt?n a
high incidence of thrombus in the right auricular appendage with subsequent
infarction to the lungs. The point of interest is that in our previous experience
we have found that the greatest number of pulmonary infarcts complicating cigarette
smoking has occurred in dogs that have :.:noked a high nicotine cigarette. This
occurred much less in the lightsmokers and also in smokers which~ a filtered
cigarette was used. The other findings were minimal Pulmonary fibrosis and
emphysema, slight, in the lungs as well as a passive congestion of a slight
to moderate degree.
