cigarette smoking with 5,540 ciigarettes smoked, the dog died while smoking.
The findings related to the dog;'s deathiare those of an acute bronchitis and,
a bronchopneumonia of a recent origin within the right cardiac lobe. A pulmonary
edema was also present in the left diaphragmatic lobe. The remainder of the
changes in relationship to smoking were those of a pulmonary fibrosis and emphysema
of a slight degree and in areas of a slight to moderate degree and also basal
cell hyperplasia of a slight degree with sl'ight to moderate atypism. Again
when these findi~ngs are compared with those of the first and secon6smoking
studie,,, they are found to be far less than those of the first andisecond
studie ,.
