Coronary arteriolosclerosis, sl~ight. 16. Fatty' infiltration of the myocardium. COMMENT : The dog was in the Enviro Control series (PMO-67). The dog had smoked for a period of 408'days with a total of 5,446 cigarettes. The dog was found dead in his cage. The anatomic findings in this case are those of an advanced pulmonary infarction sec- ondary to pulmonary embolism. Pulmonary embolism and pulmonary infarcts were present in six of the seven lobes, more advanced on the right than the left side. Unfor- tunately, the veins of the extremity were not dissected out and I coul&not find a source of the embolism. There were slight to moderate changes t•pullmonary fibrosis an&emphysema and moderate basal cell hyperplasia within the lungs. The changes in relationship to smoking are less than those which we have observed during the same smoking period in our first and second study. OSCAR AIJ'ERBACfI, M. D.
