I am enciosing some clippings which I am sure will interest you. It is hardly worth wcnile to prepare f abstracts of these articles since they are of only temporary sienificance. I call your attention particularly to the article by Derryberry of the U. S. Public Health Service. This article, I am sorry to say, is not as scientific as it oubht to be coming from someone officially con- nected with the United States Public Health Service and particularly someone who is responsible for health edUcation. On page 181 I note particularly that he indicates that the public is apathetic toward the campaign against smoking. I note also that the important place occupied by indus- trial smoke in the cancer picture is now beginning to receive recognition as the result of the conference on air pollution now going on in bdashineton.
