Abstract

This article claims that having a lot of sex is the best way to prevent lung cancer. It was based on a study by a "noted Scottish Researcher," Dr. L.G.S. Rao of Glasgow, who received money from the Council for Tobacco Research (see "receipt for funds provided to Rao" at http://www.tobaccodocuments.org/view.cfm'docid=125179&source=SNAPCTR&ShowImages=yes)

Funding of this particular study by the Tobacco Research Council (TRC) was apparently acknowledged in the journal that reportedly carried the report of Dr. Rao's work.

Quotes

Maintaining an active sex life is the best way to prevent lung cancer.

So says a noted Scottish researcher, whose statistics show lung cancer patients have a low level of androsterone in their uring. Androsterone is a form of male sex hormone.

After careful study, Dr. L.G.S. Rao of Glasgow has concluded that the old saw about smoking and lung cancer may not be all that it's trumped up to be.

"The correlation between smoking and lung cancer is much less important than the correlation between low androsterone level and the diseasem" Dr. Rao reported in a British medical journal.

"This is the most interesting piece ofnew information about lung cancer in the last 10 years," chimed in R.D. Bulbrook of the British Cancer Research Institute in London.

"What this means in terms to treatment and prevention has yet to be established, " he added with a wink....

...The only way one can increase the amount of androsterone is through sex relations.

So, the conclusion couldn't be more simple. Make love and breathe easier.
