Abstract
This is an invoice from a British group called ARIA (Associates for Research On Indoor Air) to Philip Morris' legal firm, Covington and Burling for services rendered. ARIA sent representatives to attend meetings and conferences on indoor air quality in Athens, Cairo, and London circa 1992. PM picked up the tab for all expenses. A list of consultants is included. One of the people on that list, Peter N. Lee, was a statistician paid by PM to find ways to refute the methodology of studies publshed in medical journals that linked smoking and ETS with detrimental health effects. Many of Lee's reviews (and his invoices to Philip Morris via Covington and Burling) are posted on PM's Internet document site.
