A quality cigarette. Discussion centered around
what was quallty, and how the consumer oould be
made to perceive that quality.
4. Non-blended cigarette ~ it was decided to consider
testing and getting consumer reaetions to an all
~ burly oigarette, an all flue-cured cigarette, an
all Turkish cigarette, etc.

7. A low-number, l~on-filter cigarette - th-- Agency
felt that there was a real opportunity for a
truly low-number, n~n-filter cigarette. Research
felt that such a product could be developed
through use of puffed tobacco. -.~ ....
Puff count - it was decided that some knowledge
about consumsr perceptions of puff count and .~., :~
burning rate would be d~slrable. ~
A cigarette which does n~t build up as it Ii
smoked - Research is working ona product which
had numbers ~nd smoking charact~rlsulc~ the sa~.e "
from the first to the last puff. Tn@ Agency has
been working on a concept called Balance which
visibly ~hows different tobacco at each end of
the tobacco rod.
