Here is our version: a) the proposed studies are sound and scientifically competent; b) the existing mechanism and funding will continue for a 4-6 month period of time at a level similar to that proposed; c) during this 4-6 month funding period, alternative methods of funding will be studied, evalu- ated and hopefi.lly, implemented; d) based on these contingencies, a "grant-like" proposal will be submitted for contracts 14, 25, and 28, for evaluation at the fall CTR-SAB meeting; e) contract 22 will continue in its present form.
