Continuation application No. 1005A "Genetic Differences in the In Vitro Metabolism of Chemical Carcinogens by Hudun and N,ouse Tissues" I{istory In October 1574 the SAB considered the Wang request for a two Srear project ($68,284 for the first, and $73,600 for the second year). This study was approved at a level of $65,926 for the period January 1, 1975 through December 31; 1975, withoat assurance of further support, and contingent upon priority of effort to be given to the mouse studies. At that time Dr. Wang was located at the University of California, San Francisco. In May 1975, CTR was notified that Dr. Wang bad accepted a position in Charleston, S.C., and a request was raade to CTR for perro.t.Gs3on to transfer the grant to the Medical University of South Carolinzi: CTi: ak pr o sd `.h.e ~~a: ar - _ e:; cct: :•c J.:; 1, Re uest Continuation application No. 1005A requests $47,163. Dr. Wang requests use of $16,000 from Grant No. 1005 (first year support) for purchase of a scintillation counter, fraction collector, nitrogen evaporator and a shaker-incubator -- items urgently needed for researc h activities to commence immediately. A significant portion of this sun (estimated by Wang at $11,000) will be replaced by State support for both her salary (6 months in 3.975) and some supplies.
