Neurath repoz-~ed that Lijinsky ~ad reported a~ Talanin that intestinal ~ra~ bacteria might increase reactions between nitrates and amS_nes. Mention was made of glycsro~--init=ate and nitroglycerine and effects of levels in the l~wer intestinal tra~ and in urine. Neuzath mentioned that the amount of NO Hb might be determined, its relative affini.~y and elution rates relating to CO. Neu~ath reported that Pine had some evidence that NO and amines formed nitrosamines and mostly in the side-s~ream smoke. Conclusion. The carrent proposal was ~ generaland incomplete ~ permit consideration. If a more detailed application was presented, including s~m~ of the items discussed a~ the meet.ing, it c~uld be considered at the next meeting of the Executive Committee or in Maxch by the SAB.
