I TIIT COUNCIL FOR TOBACCO RESEARCH-U.S.A., INc. August 1, 1973 MEMORANDUM H1~~11~001g TO: Drs. ihndervont, Hockett, Jacobson, Nordsiek and Sommera FROM: W. U. Gardner SUBJECT: Application 925. L.G.S. Rao, Ph.D., Regional Steroid Laboratory, Glasgow, Scotland. "Correlation of the Levels of Plasma Steroids with those in Urine of Lung Cancer Patients and Controls." This is essentially a study of lung cancer patients and possibly of means of making prognoses. He gives tio histo- pathological information. Others have noted unusual endocrine-like manifestations of lung cancers particularly the oat cell tumors. Changes in clotting time have also been reported. Hid assumption that an immunosuppression might result because of high 17-OH compounds seems unrealistic. W.U.G. WUG : ek
