Dear Bob:
I am enclosing an assignment which you requested for Patent No. 3528s35.
I apologize for the long delay which was due to difficulties in the office of
our patent counsel. I am also answering now your earlier letter.
As you may know, it is al.vays difficult to prepare in time the abstracts
for the various meetings. In order to mee: the February 8th deadline our
abstract for Seattle had to gc out and crossed your letter of February 1.
1974. I am currently working or. a comp2ete paper which you will have in
due time before this symposium.
Regarding the Federation Meeting of April 8, 1974, at which time my paper
is programmed in a session at which I am co- chairman, I should like tn
have your idea of how to stage manage withdrawal of a paper when the author
will be sitting there. This vrill be a new experience for me since I have not
so far been associated with the suppression of scientific data. Especially
in view of the publication of Dontenwill's fuU report in the Journal of the
National Cancer Institute, December, 1973: vol. 51, no. 6, your present
position looks to me totally unjustified.
