CURRICULUM VI'"..AE OF DR. WILLIAM FRANCIS RZFINEOFF JR. Dr. William Francis Rienhoff Jr., pioneer lung surgeon and Professor Emeritus of Surgery, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, Maryland, vas born in Springfield, Missouri, on October 10, 1894. A graduate of Cornell University, Dr. Rienhoff received his M.D. at Johns Hopkins in 1919. He became an intern in medicine at Johns Hopkins in 1919, a Resident Surgeon in 1923, and has been a Visiting Surgeon since 1938. He has also served as Associate Professor of Surgery, Medical Department, University of Maryland, and Consulting Surgeon at the Maryland General, Marine, Provident, Frederick City, and Emergency Hospitals. He was an Exchange Professor at Guy's Hospital in London and a Lecturer at the Royal College of Surgeons in 1948. Dr. Rienhoff was honorary Professor of Surgery at the University of the Philippines in 1952. He holds membership in the American Medical Association, Baltimore County Medical Association, Baltimore Medical Society, the American Surgical Association, the Society of Clinical Surgery, the American Society of Thoracic Surgeons, the American Bronchos2opic Society, the Southern Medical Association, the American Association of Anatomists, the Southern Surgical Association, and the International Society of Surgeons. His career includes service as an Officer in the Navy in World War II.
