Dear Dr. McAllister, As. you may be aware, I'm organizing a subgroup, specialty symposium on "Endothelial Cell Heterogeneity and Organspecificity" prior to the ~Annual Meeting of the American Society 9f Cell. Biology (ASCB)~ Boston, MA, December 8, 1991. The topic of this symposium is important and timely, since many-aspects of "Endothelial Cell .Biology'~; have become the focus of today's basic and applied research in cellular biology, For your information, I include a list of the invited (and confirmed) speakers to this symposium as well as a recent editori~~ Iwrote on this theme. The issue of endothelial cell heterogeneity and organspecificity is of particular interest for : many of the potential clinical applications, be it passivation of blood contacting surfaces, seeding of vascular grafts, specific targeting of drugs for accurate pharmacological interventions, gene-therapy, etc. .
