I Grandfathers: A neglected minority? i\'ith all the emphasis on youth these days, are grandfathers the nlost neglected group in the L'.S. ' A survev conducted recently by the Grand-Dad's Dav Council, to find out whether grandmothers should be included in its annual Grand-Dad's Day promotions, came up with the finding that grandmoth- ers are nowhere near as neglected as their husbands and don't really need a special day of recognition. For the benefit of the 11 million grandfathers in the country, ho,,\•- ever, the Council sets aside Sept 13 as a dav for national golf tourna- ments. state and city proclamations -and a drive to create retail sales of gifts for grandpa. Retailers can participate in the promotion, says the Council. by en- gaging in one or more of the follon- ing promotional activities :  Running a contest for the old- est or the youngest grandfather or AMERICAN DRUGGIST 0 September 7, 1970 the one with the most grandchil- dren.  tietting up a special corner in the store for outstanding Grand- Dad gifts. • Getting a list of prominent grandfathers and printing one each day in store ads.
