TO: TOBACCO INDUSTRY RESEARCH COMMITTEE
RE: Report on "The Harmful Effects of Tobacco."
Attached is a copy of the May 5 "New Y ork Medicine," official
publication of the New York County Medical Society featuring
the article "The Harmful Effects of Tobacco."
This is the report referred to in our memorandum of May 3, on
the Reader°s Digest. A check shows that the N. Y. Herald
Tribune and the N. Y. Post used stories on this release, copies
of which are attached. The other New York papers ignored it,
as did the Associated Press and the United Press. The Inter-
national News Service sent out 200 words on it.
