Dear Mike,
I recently received a copy of your Topical Report, dated
October 13, 19gO, Listed therein were results from
various anslyses made on samples of BARCLAY cigarettes.
I was surp=ised to see the somewhat high values recorded
for "~ar" ~nd other related sn~ke components. We con-
sistently measure the smoke from production BAgCLAY at or
below tBe advertised values when using the standard FTC
proceaure.
If you plan any further testing with BARCLAY cigarettes,
we would be pleased to have any of your people contact
our Jim Nail, Division Head of T~ehnieal Services~ to
effec~ a comparison o~ procedures and critical items.
Indeed, I might suggest value in Jim visiting your group
when you next schedule testing. He could bring w~th him
current ~rod~ctlo~ ~a~glee ~fbARCLAY ~i~arettes Łer
testing which would p~ovide a cross check between
laboratories. We welcome opportunities to cross compare
OUr results as we mus~ 6eel with close control on a daily
basis.
Best ~e~ards,
~A
